WALMART DEALS & FREEBIES 8/13

I'm not going to tattle on myself and say just exactly how long I spent at Walmart this evening, but let's just say, I got my walking in for the week. Sheesh.

Anywho... I came across some great deals and I wanted to pass them along to you!

  • I found a great deal to use those $4/1 Gillette Pro Glide Razor coupons from the last P&G insert 7/31. In the travel size isle they had Gillette Pro Glides for $5.97, so I got two for $2 each!
  • The Tide coupons in the P&G 7/31 for $1/1 Tide, you can use those to get a $.97 sample FREE.
  • There's a Febreeze Fabric Effects coupon in the same P&G insert you can use to get a $.97 Febreeze travel size FREE.
  • I found a Dove $1/1 coupon in an All You Magazine (forgot the issue! sorry!) so I used it plus $.50 to get a large travel size of Dove Shampoo.
  • In the P&G coupon book from the Charmin TP packages there's a $1/1 Secret Clinical travel size deoderant (normally $2.42), with coupon - $1.42 each.
  • Flip flops are on clearance for $1.98 (time to stock up for next year or great for College students using dorm showers!).
  • Beechnut Infant Whole Grain Cereal boxes are on clearance for $1! Use this form to get 3 more boxes for free - HURRY!
  • Disney infant shampoo & bath soap is on clearance for $2.
  • Graco Car Booster seats on clearance for $19.99, some other brands are only $13.99.

Be sure you check isle end caps for clearance items in the baby section. All other clearance items are usually tucked away with other like products or you may find an occaisional clearance section on a shelf amongst other normally priced items.

A word to the wise... WM's 24 pack of Crayola crayons are $.40. You can get them for $.25 in about a week or two. I'd hold out to buy school supplies until then, or just stock up for Christmas stocking stuffers when they do go on sale.

Finally, you can find some great coupons on the manufacturers websites for school supply items like Scotch tape, Post It Notes, Papermate Pens, etc. Do a little web surfing for coupons before you hit the stores! It's worth it!

xoxo,
Rachel

PUT YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER!

School is just about to start and boy what a mess we've made around here this summer! A simple task like moving the computer to a different wall in the living room turned into a 5 hour task! I didn't realize how much stuff I had tucked away here and there. And of course, everything has to come out before you can organize. I call it making a mess to clean one up. At about 1 a.m. my living room looked like Hobby Lobby had thrown up all over the place. Where did I get all this yarn? Why do I have 6 pairs of scissors, and why can't I ever find one single pair when I need them? I also discovered that my sister in law is a stinkin' genius (shout out to Carla H.)! I've been stockpiling school supplies and it's been sorta crazy keeping everything from the little ones, until last night that is. My super smart SIL gave all of my girls a clear tub with a lid that she decorated with their names. And last night I found the perfect use for them... school supplies! Now each child has their own resource tub for the year. No more fighting or school supply jealousy. Thanks Carla!!!

I also realized another very important thing when I woke up this morning... My life in general has become cluttered. So, I made two lists. The first list was all the projects around my house that require mommy hands (organizing shoes, backpacks, winter wardrobes, etc.). The second list was more abstract, an internal "To-Do" list. I'll be blogging about each item on this list in a new series I'm calling "Put Your House In Order." My first post is about taking care of yourself. (ha!) Sorry, I had to laugh. That seems like such an unrealistic topic for moms. But trust me, it's true and you are worth it. So check back tomorrow for more details!

XOXO,
Rachel

MY $3.55 TARGET TRIP TODAY!

Today I broke my own success record at Target! I used manufacturer and Target coupons stacked with sales and I purchased all of these items for $3.55! Yeah and praise God! My husband now thinks I'm superwoman (which is totally fine by me).

And another highlight of the day was taking my 7 year old to Toys R' Us and helping her bargain hunt for toys. I'm so proud of her! She got a BOGO Strawberry Shortcake play set and a BOG2 Crayola markers. We're stocked for like a year or something now, which is super awesome. Also, I must mention she only spent her birthday money ($20) and covered the tax herself. She's getting so big!

Also, while I was at Target I noticed that Target picked up on the free school supplies we were all getting by using their coupons and now they've marked almost all of those items up by $.50. Not a big deal, but it does adds up. You can print $1.00 off Scotch Magic Tape coupons from the Scotch website and use the $.50 credit towards your other (now marked up) items like the Sharpie markers and some PaperMate pens.
