COUPONING MY FAMILY OUT OF WIC

If you’re an extreme couponer, then you probably have a few extras of everything your family needs. You may even have an obscene amount of something you found for free or ridiculously cheap. I do! My latest find was Tide 50 oz. bottles for less than $4 at CVS. For the first time ever I have about a year’s supply of laundry detergent on hand. Sometimes I just open my laundry room cabinet and admire my stockpile. Don’t laugh.

If you’re into planning ahead or cooking from scratch, then you probably know that feeling of being prepared. It feels good to have plenty of supplies on hand. When bad weather hits, it’s no problem. We can hunker down for a while and never think twice about it.

But, I’ll admit, things have not always been this way in my house. In fact, less than a year ago we were on WIC. That was not a fun period in my grocery shopping life. Not only was I embarrassed to ask for the help, I felt that others around me at the stores were judging me when I was getting that help.

Enter couponing.

COUPON TRADING FORUM!

     I have an exciting announcement to make! I'm just bursting at the seams! I can't wait till 9am to post this, I just HAVE to do it now! JUST CALL ME THE COUPON FAIRY!!!

     I know we've probably all seen those random little coupons placed here and there throughout the store when we've been shopping. Some Coupon Fairy has kindly left behind a coupon or two that they don't need. There have been plenty of times when I've needed and taken them! Well, this weekend the Coupon Fairy at my local Target was such a blessing to me! I was contemplating the purchase of a Venus cartrige refill or a new razor. As we all know, the refills are ridiculously expensive and often times it's a better buy to just get a new razor! But I had incentive for working it out. There was a Target deal where I'd get a $5 gift card if I made it work with my coupons and have an awesomer savings experience. Well, after hovering in the razor isle for a few minutes, I picked up my purchase and walked to another isle to find my other items I needed for the deal. While I was gone I decided it was going to cost me too much out of pocket, so I went back to put the razors up on the shelf and guess what?! The Coupon Fairy had just been there and she didn't leave just any coupon, she left a $5 off Venus Target coupon!!! So I stacked it with my manufacturer coupon, did my deal, and now I have my $5 gift card to show for it! Thanks Coupon Fairy!

     So that brings me to my new mission. I've decided to become the Target coupon fairy in my neck of the woods. I left a $5 formula coupon there this weekend, and I'm creating a Target Coupon Fairy folder to take with me when I shop. I'll be leaving those coupons around the store to be a blessing to someone else. I encourage you to do the same. Money is tight right now, and I know for myself, I really needed those Venus razors, but I just couldn't do it without that awesome coupon. Giving away your extra coupons can be a great help to other money saving moms out there. Don't pass up the opportunity to do a good deed! :)

SLEEP IS FOR THE WEARY

And caffine is for ME! Ok, so the blog is coming together nicely. I still have some customization to do. Hopefully, the wee people will allow me to get some work done on it today. I am shamelessly bribing them with a trip to The Science Spectrum if they will (fill in the blank with whatever I need them to do at the moment). It's working so far. We'll see what happens at nap time

Also, today is Friday at most places, so you'll find a variety of Freebies, bonus Swagbucks, giveaways, etc. I'll be heading out to my local McDonald's for Freebie Friday to get samples of their new Mango Pineapple Smoothie for all The Redhots. Did I say free already? Free fruit & yogurt that they will eat. In a cup. With a straw. And a lid. Sounds heavenly. Also, if it turns out you become addicted to them (like me), you'll want to print yourself a copy or two of this BOGO coupon!
